Last month, Cynthia Currence taught us a lot about marketing in turbulent times. One thing that still stands out in my mind was her recommendation to develop partnerships with other entities to diversify your thinking. A lot of groups could learn from her examples and find ways to partner across business and nonprofit lines. See her SMART guide for more details and information regarding this philosophy.
During the presentation, Cynthia had everyone in the room take her “Turbulence Navigation” test. Read the statements below and rank yourself between 1-10 (10 being you agree strongly with the statement):
- I believe my cup “runth over.”
- Have you ever recreated yourself?
- I know my assets, liabilities, pros/cons of my unique environment and use them to refine the situation.
- I look through other people’s eyes to see what I cannot see.
- I pursue the advantage of alliances.
- I hang with people who are what I want to be.
- Carpe articulum.
I think a lot of us can learn from the results of this test. Are we really willing to learn from others and form strategic partnerships to offset some of our weaknesses? Do you want to know more about this topic? Contact Cynthia and continue to join us at our upcoming monthly luncheons to learn from other marketing consultants and experts. Our next event will be Thursday, August 7.
